Community Schools

Just a quick thought today...

Columbia has community high schools. Students in Columbia have access to schools that are generally "right around the corner." The students that attend these schools live in close proximity. Other parts of the county, like Elkridge, do not have this. One student may live in the farthest reach of Hanover or Elkridge, and another might live across the street from Howard or Long Reach High School. This could equate to 10 to 15 minutes of travel without traffic. These students are not part of the same community. Are community schools just a privilege?
